Green valley first opened for play in 1950. The course was designed by Elmer G. Border. The course was updated in the late 1980s by Robert Muir Graves and his protégé Damian Pascuzzo.
Green Valley is a somewhat short course, with narrow tree-lined fairways. The greens are described as small, tricky and fast. This is a classic old-style course design.
